for the following positions for the Project Implementation Unit (PIU) for JnNURM -BSUP.
(1) PROJECT COORDINATOR (Housing & Slum Development) No. of Post- 01
Qualification Senior Engineer/Town planner with at least 5 -10 years experience in a
managerial position in a large municipality/PSU in the area of township
planning lay-out designing etc.
Experience in slum development and local infrastructure, including in-situ
slum development
Strong communication and computer skills.
Any earlier involvement with JnNURM will be added advantage.

(2) LIVELIHOODS DEVELOPMENT SPECIALIST No. of Post – 01
Qualification Degree in Sociology/Social Work/Communication.
5-10 years experience in a responsible position in issues relating to urban
poor/slum dwellers.
Experience in designing and conducting socio economic surveys/ social
development projects in the field of education, health, community
mobilization, poverty alleviation, monitoring evaluation etc.
Any earlier involvement with JnNURM will be added advantage

(3) RESEARCH OFFICER No. of Post- 01
Qualification Master degree in Social Science/Economics, with practical experience of

The scope of service, qualification and experience requirement and deliverables for
the above positions shall be based on the same as elucidated in Annexure 1 & 2 of the
Revised JnNURM Toolkit for Project Implementation Unit. (www.jnnurm.nic.in)
Surat Municipal Corporation reserves the right to accept or reject any application at
its own discretion and to cancel or re-invite application if required without assigning any
reasons. Short-listed individual professionals shall be called for interview. Surat Municipal
Corporation will enter into a contract with selected candidates(s) for a required which will
be reviewed annually based on performance, outputs and desired impact.

(RAY) of Govt. of India.
(1) GIS Specialist No. of post : 01
Qualification Bachelor degree in Planning, Engineering/ Geography/ Computer Science

Masters degree in Planning, Engineering/ Geography/ Computer Science
or other relevant discipline.
